Communication without waiting lists
About our project
Our idea, Communications without waiting lists, takes an existing assistive technology - Augmentative and Alternative Communication – and focuses on how this can be used to support people living with dementia to remain connected to the people and places around them.
The solution works by AAC devices which allow users to trigger ‘speech’ by pressing symbols. The solution is already being used by people with communication disabilities and autism spectrum disorder.
The idea seeks to drive down the cost of expensive systems by utilising open source, open voice software.
